Today is the aftermath of the first deadline. Tension in the newsroom is low, but it’s building up again as we approach our next stories. Submitting our drafts was a huge boulder lifted from our necks. Now, editors are red marking our documents. We are fixing the mistakes to perfection. Chuck, a proofreading guru, has been very helpful in this process. Journalism is a new ground I walk on, but I’ve been able to stay on path with his guidance.

Tomorrow we are taking a much needed trip to San Francisco. Fun in the fog could inspire a new chronicle. The Castro, Tenderloin, Mission, Fillmore, and Bayview District hold endless uncovered stories. I am excited to take a day off in the city I was borned and raised. It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to show off that I have a sense of direction.

Our day in the newsroom ends at 3:00pm, but we know news never stops.
