Mexico vs. Brazil

Fans gathered today at the Plaza de Cesar Chavez in San Jose, California, to watch a live screening of the FIFA World Cup match between Mexico and Brazil. Located in the heart of the city’s downtown, the event drew in spectators from all over the Bay Area. The atmosphere slowly grew tense as fans surrounded the wide screen. The majority of the crowd supported Mexico’s national soccer team, while few supporters of Brazil were scattered among them. Families and friends gathered together to cheer on their teams in team apparel and accessories. Flags were waved in the air, and draped around individuals as well. All eyes were glued to the screen as the National Anthem was played. Although both teams did not score, fans remained enthusiastic as they rooted on their teams. Their spirit was apparent through the ups and downs of the game, and much emotion was displayed, especially when chances to score were lost, and yellow cards were given. Yet through it all, fans remained loyal and hopeful for the next game.
